EMME/2 is a comprehensive, multimodal urban and regional transportationplanning system designed for interactive graphic use. It provides thetransportation planner or engineer with a powerful state-of-the-arttransportation planning program that contains about 50 modules subdividedinto (1) utilities, (2) network editor, (3) matrix editor, (4) functioneditor, (5) assignment procedures, and (6) results.Demand modeling, including trip production and attraction, tripdistribution and mode choice are carried out within the Matrix Editor.EMME/2 Macros can be used to set up the desired demand modelingcalculations. The assignment procedures include (1) multi-classequilibrium road assignment, (2) multipath transit assignment, and (3)multimodal equilibrium assignment.The Network Editor contains a Network Calculator with the uniquecapability to carry out calculations with the network data and theresults of assignments. EMME/2 is currently used in more than 250installations in the United States, Canada, Europe, Middle East, and FarEast. It is available on a wide range of micro-, mini-, and mainframecomputers.
